Which classes can my child apply to?
This page covers common entry routes for Classes VI, VIII, IX and XI. The available class depends on the school and academic session. RIMC has a Class VIII route; JNV, Sainik Schools, AMU, Jamia, BHU and RMS have their own class-specific admission rules. Check the current official notice before choosing a route.
Do all school admissions require an entrance exam?
No. Selection methods vary by school, class and session. For example, BHU Central Hindu Schools used an e-lottery for Class VI in the 2026–27 session, while specified Class IX and XI routes used SET. Other schools may require an entrance test and further selection stages.
Are RMS and RIMC the same admission route?
No. Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS) and Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) are different institutions with separate admission processes. RMS has Class VI and IX routes; RIMC admits through a Class VIII route. Use each institution’s current official notice.
How do I check my child’s eligibility?
Match the latest official notice against the child’s date of birth, current or completed class, and any residence, category or other applicable requirements. Entry class alone does not establish eligibility. RAAH can help you understand the criteria, but the admitting authority makes the final decision.
Does a RAAH enquiry submit an official school application?
No. A RAAH enquiry is a request for guidance or preparation support. Official applications must be submitted through the school or admitting authority’s prescribed process. Keep your application confirmation, payment receipt and required documents.
Does clearing an entrance test guarantee admission?
No. Admission may also depend on merit, vacancies, eligibility, document verification, interviews, medical fitness or other notified requirements. RAAH provides guidance and preparation support and does not guarantee admission.
Can we receive guidance online or in New Delhi?
You can enquire about online guidance or support in New Delhi. Share the intended entry class, preferred school and your main question. Confirm the available format and appointment before making plans to attend.
How do we choose a programme and find out the fees?
Start with the child’s target school, current understanding and preparation needs. Ask RAAH to confirm the current batch or test series, subjects covered, schedule, duration, inclusions and fees before enrolling. Availability can differ by class and admission cycle.
