Common questions about RMS admission
Which classes have direct RMS admission?
The regular entry routes covered by the 2026–27 prospectus were Class VI and Class IX through the Common Entrance Test.
Can girls apply to Rashtriya Military Schools?
Yes, the official 2026–27 prospectus invited boys and girls for both Class VI and IX. Girls’ seats were subject to the reservation limits specified for that CET cycle. Future cycles should be checked again.
Are RMS day schools?
No. The official prospectus describes admissions as boarding admissions only. Rashtriya Military Schools are residential schools.
Does clearing CET guarantee admission?
No. Written-test qualifiers may be called for interview. Final selection also depends on cumulative merit, vacancies, applicable reservation rules and medical fitness.
What is special about Class VI English?
Under the 2026–27 scheme, candidates had to qualify English, but the English marks were not counted for preparation of the Class VI written merit list.
Are 2027–28 official dates published?
As of 24 September 2026, the official NIELIT RMS portal I checked is still displaying the 2026–27 admission cycle and its merit-list updates. RAAH should add the next-cycle dates only after they can be verified from the authorised source.
