BHU Central Hindu Schools Admission & Preparation
Understand the correct admission route for Class VI, Class IX or Class XI before choosing preparation. BHU uses different selection methods for different entry classes.
RAAH provides independent preparation and admission guidance. Final admission decisions are made by Banaras Hindu University.
Choose the correct BHU route
Class VI2026–27 route: E-Lottery — not an entrance test Class IX
2026–27 route: School Entrance Test — boys Class XI
SET · Maths · Biology · Arts · Commerce
The three entry classes do not follow the same process
First identify the intended entry class. Then follow the correct admission, eligibility and preparation route for that class.
Class VI
E-Lottery RouteFor the 2026–27 session, Class VI admission to Central Hindu Boys’ School and Central Hindu Girls’ School was conducted through e-lottery.

Class IX
SET RouteFor 2026–27, SET Class IX admission was available for boys at Central Hindu Boys’ School.
Preparation requires Class VIII-level English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science and Science.
Class XI
Stream-Specific SETClass XI applicants prepare separately for Maths, Biology, Arts or Commerce groups.
The 2026 bulletin included Class XI admission routes for both CHBS and CHGS.
Central Hindu Boys’ School & Central Hindu Girls’ School
Both schools are part of the Banaras Hindu University school system and are affiliated with CBSE. The relevant school depends on the candidate’s class, gender and available admission route.
